Classic Travel: Holiday Inn

When I think of '60s and '70s hotel and motel travel with my parents and sister I think of Holiday Inn. A young friend once got ill after ordering king crab legs at one in Nebraska (why there?!) but fun times all the same. My wife and boys and I continue to look for the vintage "Holidomes", the large Holiday Inns with indoor pools, ping pong, miniture golf, etc. The one near our home has replaced the miniture golf with a badminton court! Some of these large hotels or motels are no longer under the Holiday Inn label. Somewhere on the site, though I'm not seeing it today, is/was a list of these Holidome Holiday Inns including those that are now Ramadas or whatever. See www.holidayinn.com.
