Classic Sport: Goodbye Yankee Stadium

I salute you...http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1145451/index.htm.

Made it there once by myself while on business.

The one I wish most I had visited but is now gone is Boston Garden.

My first pro venue was the Kansas City Kings (Dad took me to see Oscar Robertson.) when they played in Municipal Arena in KC, now the home of the Missouri Kansas City Kangaroos Division I basketball teams. Municipal has hosted more NCAA Final Fours than any other arena. The Sprint Center has joined Kemper Arena and Municipal Arena in KC. Kansas City hopes to get another NBA (and or NHL) team to follow the Kings and Scouts (now NJ Devils) but I don't think it's going to happen soon.

My second pro venue was the Minnesota Twins in their old outdoor ballfield. They played the Orioles and manager Earl Weaver sure liked to chew on the umpire.
